Crispy Turmeric Salmon is a twist on an old-time favorite. Vibrant turmeric and cumin come together to flavor and give color to this oven-roasted salmon. Add this recipe to your next grain bowl, salad, or meal prep!

Turmeric Ginger Salmon

Yes, you saw and read that right. Here’s a very very simple recipe for salmon that’s seasoned with turmeric. You may be asking, why would I make this? Honestly, I think it’s fun to find new ways to use different foods. When I think about turmeric it’s easy to add to a smoothie, curry, or soup. Why not switch it up a bit?

Ingredients

Salmon: Fresh salmon cut into fillets. You’ll need four for this recipe.

Turmeric: The star ingredient that gives this salmon a glow is turmeric. Be careful with handling turmeric as it stains your hands and nails. Turmeric is now easily found at most grocery stores.

Ginger: A wonderful pairing to turmeric is ginger. This recipe calls for ground ginger.

Garlic Powder

Olive Oil: What helps bring this all together. All of these wonderful herbs will be mixed with the olive oil and directly brushed on the salmon.

What You’ll Need

Baking Pan

Aluminum Foil

Basting Brush

Small cup/bowl

How To Make Turmeric Ginger Salmon

Preheat oven to 450°F. While the oven gets nice and hot prepare the baking sheet. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. I personally like to use foil like this heavy-duty aluminum foil.

In a small bowl combine turmeric, ginger, garlic powder. Coat salmon with turmeric mixture. I have a little basting brush to help put the turmeric seasoning mix on the salmon. This is the part that can get really messy. As mentioned earlier turmeric can easily stain your hands, nails, and other surfaces. A basting brush is really helpful. Season fish by sprinkling salt and pepper. Transfer salmon to baking sheet. Cook in the oven for 15-25 minutes. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the salmon. Thicker pieces of salmon will take longer to cook. Remove from oven.

What to eat with Salmon?

Pair with a salad, bowl, or your next meal prep. I made a delicious bowl filled with lacinato ale and slivered almonds and sautéed cauliflower.
