Ingredients
Lavender Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoon dried lavender
Lavender Waffles
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • cups milk
  • ¼ cup lavender simple syrup
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
Instructions
Lavender Simple Syrup
  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep for an hour. Pour syrup through a fine-mesh strainer to remove lavender blossoms. Allow to cool,

Lavender Waffles
  1. Add all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt to a large bowl. In a separate bowl add eggs, milk, lavender simple syrup, and melted butter and mix. Pour wet ingredients into a bowl of dry ingredients (flour mixture)

  2. Stir until just combined (lumps are ok), Sprinkle additional lavender buds, and lightly mix (optional). Allow batter to rest for 5 minutes.

  3. Heat a waffle griddle. Cook waffles according to waffle maker instructions.
